PC CARP

PC CARP is a software package used to analyze survey data. The program can be used to construct estimates and standard errors for totals, means, quantiles, ratios, the difference of ratios, and the entries in two-way tables. Weighted regression equations can also be estimated. The software is designed for multistage stratified samples, and finite correction terms can be introduced at two stages. A mainframe version of PC CARP (called SUPER CARP) is also available.

Several companion packages to PC CARP are also available. PC CARPL performs logistic regression analyses on survey data, and POSTCARP estimates totals, ratios and difference of ratios for survey data that has been post-stratified. The EV CARP package performs regression analysis on data containing measurement error in the explanatory variables.

All of the CARP software is designed to run on an IBM-compatible PC with a pentium or 486 processor, or a lower processor which is also equipped with a math coprocessor. The software runs on machines with as little as 640K of RAM. The CARP software can estimate at most 50 parameters in a particular model, but there is no limit to the number of observations in the data set.

Cost of the CARP software is as follows:

  PC CARP for PC (MS-DOS)....................$300.00
Logistic supplement (PC CARPL)..............$50.00
Post Stratification supplement (POST CARP)..$50.00
EV CARP for PC (MS-DOS)....................$300.00
PC CARP and EV CARP for PC (MS-DO).........$500.00
SUPER CARP (Main Frame program)............$150.00
