The Center for Survey Statistics and Methodology is a research and service institute
of Iowa State University. Established in 1933, it was the first statistical
center of its kind in the United States, bringing persons trained in statistical
theory and its applications together to work as a single organized group.
The center has established a strong tradition of service and collaborative
effort in developing and applying statistical methodology to support research
throughout the university and beyond.
BACKGROUND
B.S. degree in Agronomy from Iowa State University, 1974, graduate work
at both Iowa State and Kansas State University.
Past NRCS Experience: Soil and District Conservationist in Iowa (several
locations - 6 years), Plant Materials Center Manager, (Manahattan, Ks.-
5 years), State Conservation Agronomist/FOCS Coordinator (Des Moines, Ia.-
11 years)
My general areas of responsibility include development
and adaptation of technology to the business of resource inventory with
special emphasis on the areas of erosion prediction and resource assessment.
INTEREST
My wife Nancy and I have two children. Other outside interests include
prairies, reading, canoeing and downhill skiing.
