Taps Maiti

Associate professor. Taps Maiti is interested in sampling techniques, small area estimation, multilevel modeling and biostatistics. His sampling research focuses on making inferences from complex survey data and the small area estimation. The small area research has been applied to the estimation of unemployment rates for all fifty states, four-person family median income for all the states, and for estimating the number of poor school age children in all U.S. counties. Maiti is actively involved in statistical research and development for the National Resources Inventory survey (NRI) along with his colleagues within CSSM. He has also done research on disease mapping, Bayesian machine learning, analyzing longitudinal data and other real life problems.
